Glenn Ball (UK) Choreography is not only about the talent of each individual performer, but it is the sum of the parts. With many years of experience performing alongside the giants of the entertainment business, Glenn acquired the right know-how to unlock the full potential of a performance. As a child, Glenn trained in all forms of dance and even won World Titles in Latin and Ballroom and Country and Western dance styles. From a dance career which boasts of being the youngest ever member of the Spirit of the Dance touring company to touring world-wide with Take That and Kylie Minogue. Glenn’s knowledge of dance is extensive to say the least allowing him to expertly deliver unique and various styles of performance. His attention to detail and enthusiastic style has made it possible for Glenn to become one of the UK’s youngest, most innovative choreographers.  His list of credits already includes names such as X Factor, Got to Dance, Tarkan and The Saturdays.  He has choreographed numerous top 10 videos such as Chico Time and Bars and Melody ‘Hopeful’.NY)

Kellese Key (TX) has danced all of her life, starting at the age of 2 with extensive training in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Clogging, and Theatre.  Coming into the Swing Dance scene in 1991, she quickly moved up the ranks winning her first US Open title within 3 years in the Showcase division.  Shortly after winning her first title, she was honored with the Feather Award for Best Showcase Dancer, an award voted on by her peers and the general dance population.  In 1996, Kellese met Brent Key.  After two short years of partnering, they won their first US Open title together in the Classic division, thus making Kellese the first female to ever win a title in both the Showcase and the Classic divisions at the US Open.  With Brent coming from the Carolina Shag World, and Kellese from the West Coast Swing World, they created a fusion quickly labeled by the dance community as Swag!  There is not enough paper to list all of Kellese’s accomplishments but her highlights include: 10 US Open Titles, of which 7 were in the prestigious Classic and Showcase divisions,  6 USA Grand National Titles in both Classic and Showcase, a World Swing Dance Championship Title in the Showcase division,  2007 Impact Couple of the Year,  2009 Induction into the Dallas D.A.N.C.E Hall of Fame and after all of this competition, Kellese’s passion for life and dance continue to infect dancers all across the globe!  Today, Kellese Key still travels around teaching, competing, judging and choreographing for her favorite dance of all time and is the proud owner/creator of Swank Dance Fitness, her latest venture in an attempt to expose West Coast Swing “One Triple Step at a Time!

(CA) Kyle Redd & Sarah Vann Drake (CA) have been on the forefront of innovative west coast swing for over 20 years. Residing in Fresno, California, Kyle Redd & Sarah Vann Drake are the holders of 11 US Open titles, are five time NASDE champions, and eight time Grand National Champions, and they are the only couple to hold US Open Swing Championship titles in both the Showcase and Classic divisions. Competing together for over 12 years, they are known for their smooth footwork and precise, and direct teaching styles. Kyle and Sarah have choreographed and performed over 24 routines. Sean Mckeever & Courtney Adair  (CA) Thier partnership extends beyond the dance floor and is rooted in their love for one another. They began dating in 2010 and started their partnership in West Coast Swing within the next year. An engagement followed 2 years later. They have spent the last 6 years together, traveling, training, teaching and competing, to become one of the most established and prolific couples in swing. Over this time they have accrued numerous national titles in strictly swing and jack and jill competitions, several awards on the NASDE circuit, and consistent top placements as one of the world’s top Classic Swing Division couples. They are most well known for their innovative and intellectual teaching, approachable and social attitudes, and unique interpretation of traditional West Coast Swing.
Greg Scott & Lemery Rollins (MD) have over 20 years dancing experience combined.  Greg started in American Ballroom but competed in country winning many titles.  He also has a background in ballet, jazz and hip hop.  Lemery started in International 10 Dance (both Ballroom and Latin) and won many titles including: 3rd in the world pro/am 10 dance, 5Th in the world and 3rd in the USA pro/am Latin.  She is also skilled in American Ballroom, Salsa, and Argentine Tango.  Greg and Lemery are currently focusing on West Coast Swing, Greg winning many All-Star J&J and Strictlys. Together they have solidified their place within the top 5 couples in Showcase Division this year and are both currently at the top of the NASDE tour.  They are a unique couple who are excited to be dancing their third routine together.  They are nurturing instructors who believe that a strong foundation leads to a higher obtainable level and look forward to sharing their love of dance with you.

Kadu Pirez & Larissa Thayane (CA) World renowned Brazilian Zouk professionals Kadu Pires and Larissa Thayane are originally from Brazil. They spend up to 80% of the year travelling – teaching, performing, choreographing and judging at the world’s most important Latin dance events and competitions. They have been instrumental in boosting the popularity of Brazilian Zouk and Samba de Gafieira internationally. Their credits include competition wins and television appearances in Brazil and in Australia where they lived for 10 years, including choreographing for So You Think You Can Dance Australia. Today they live in Los Angeles and have been dedicating time studying and competing West Coast Swing, their new passion.

Markus Smith & Trendlyon Veal  (MD) Markus is an accomplished and award winning dance competitor, choreographer and instructor. He has been featured on Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance”, BET’s “106 and Park” program, and the movie Love N’ Dancing. He was a co-host of DC DANCING TEENS, a youth hand dance show that has been seen on Globaldancetv and shown on DCTV channel 95 in Washington DC. Trendlyon Veal is a dance instructor, choreographer, and competitor with over seven years of competition and teaching experience. Most rece has placed first in a number of Jack and Jill, Pro Am and Strictly Swing competitions. Markus and Trendlyon are both Tri State Connection Champions. Together they travel across the United States and internationally teaching, competing, judging, and performing at National Swing Dance events, in addition to volunteer and community outreach. Myles & Tessa Munroe (Canada) are Canada’s West Coast Swing Champions and the highest ranked international dancers on the NASDE circuit, consistently placing 1st or 2nd in the Showcase division and placing 2nd at the US Open for the past three years. Myles 26 years of diverse dance training includes 6 UCWDC World Championship titles, and Tessa brings a professional coaching career to the partnership with university degrees in both Kinesiology and Education. Bonnie & Jerome Subey
Bonnie and Jerome met on the dance floor in 2012 and have been inseparable ever since.  Jerome is originally from Montpellier, France, and Bonnie is from Oklahoma City, OK, USA.  They now travel full-time: teaching, judging, and performing West Coast Swing all over the US and the world, competing in the champions division.  Between the two of them, they have over 25 years of partner dance experience, and pull from multiple and varied movement disciplines including hip hop, bellydance, acrobatics, and modern dance to create their unique style.  Jerome's technique and discipline from his background as a karate teacher complements Bonnie's artistry, versatility, and perceptiveness to form a remarkable partnership.  They currently perform routines in the Showcase division, and love to share their art and knowledge with others.



Philippe & Flore Berne hail from France, now living and working in Montreal, Canada. Philippe’s background is in the competition world and Flore’s is the world of social dancing. Together, they evolved rapidly in national and international competitions and took it to the biggest French stages with Charly Moser’s dance Company (Feeling Dance Show), known for their numerous TV and live appearances. Today, they are emerging West Coast Swing Showcase champions. They also still compete in DanceSport and turned professional in the 2014 season, becoming Canadian Professional 10-Dance Vice-Champion at their first Canadian professional championship. www.philippeandflore.com

Hugo Miguez & Stacy Kay (FL) are renowned worldwide for their precision, variety, and teaching methods within West Coast Swing. Since 2011, they have taken the circuit by storm with their Classic routines and are re-defining the learning process of the dance world. They will lead you through energetic dances while sharing their advice on all things dance.
Hugo and Stacy reside in sunny Clearwater, Florida and travel as competitors, judges, and choreographers for numerous events in different dance styles. Both continue to share their passion for dance and enjoy working with all levels of experiences. They work with top professionals in many different dance styles distinctly furthering their education and experience. Their philosophy is to introduce and foster fresh, comprehensive dance knowledge for their students by giving more of themselves within every experience.




Mike Carringer & Hannah Meyer have been dancing together for several years. After their debut of their NASDE Showcase routine, 'Young Hearts,' at the 2016 Open, Mike and Hannah began traveling the West Coast Swing circuit competing, instructing, performing, and judging together. Mike and Hannah are thankful for the support they have received from their families, friends, and the dance community and are looking forward to another year of adventures

Ken Rutland & Bryn Anderson (Houston TX) Bryn has been dancing for as long as she can remember and took her first west coast swing class at five years old.  Since then, she has trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and international Latin, and incorporates this diverse background into her unique style of west coast swing.

Ken grew up dancing solo hip hop and began partner dancing in 2011. He sampled many different styles of dancing such as DFW swingout, salsa, bachata, kizomba, zydeco, and finally fell in love with west coast swing in 2015.

Ken and Bryn have been routine partners since 2016, winning multiple titles in the Rising Star division, and have recently transitioned to competing in Classic. Avid social dancers, they enjoy traveling the circuit competing, judging, teaching, and igniting passion for west coast swing.

They met in a local dance hall in 2012. After meeting they were both introduced to West Coast Swing, and began competing in 2013. After a few years of friendship they decided to compete with one another in the rising star division where they debuted their first routine in 2015. Since then they have gone on to win the first ever Rising Star Tour and are now traveling, teaching, judging, and competing on the showcase floor.
Tony & Larisa Schubert (CA) have been making waves in the WCS circuit, rising quickly through the ranks and putting on an impressive showing with their awesome routine! This couple is one of the top up and coming couples in the WCS world, and are known for their unique brand of musicality. We are very excited about the energy they will undoubtedly bring.

Tony  fell in love with dance in college. He competed on the ASU ballroom team for 4 years and returned after graduation to help coach. He started west coast swing shortly after and hasn’t looked back since. Tony is competing at an all star champion level and is passionate about teaching and building his partnership with Larisa.

Larisa Tingle has been in love with music her whole life, from violinist to vocalist and finally to dancer. She is now competing at an allstar champion level and excited to share her dancing dream with her partner Tony. In addition to competing and teaching, Larisa started djing at local dances in Southern California but got known quickly for her groovy late night “Tingle Time” sets, becoming one of the sought after Dj’s on the convention circuit around the country.


Dean & Dawn Garrish (MD) are two of the most prominent teachers of both country and west coast swing dance in the Maryland/DC area. They have been teaching and competing in the dance community for over 25 years. With extensive knowledge in competitive dancing they have won two UCWDC World Titles, 6 US Open Swing Titles, and over 50 Top Teacher Awards. Dean and Dawn are legends of the dance world and continue to influence dancers of all levels seeking to refine their skills. www.deananddawn.com

Matthew Smith (IL). Matthew began dancing when he was just five years old, and moved into West Coast Swing intensely nearly twenty years ago. Drawing on his many years of experience in this rapidly changing dance, he combines a contemporary sense of lyrical musicality with a passion for the fundamentals of west coast swing. Matthew teaches with Kay Newhouse (co-director of MADjam, DCSX and Swing Fling), focusing on social proficiency and the ways that good technique make dancing easier and more fun.

Kay Newhouse (MD) fell in love with West Coast Swing in the Washington DC area in the mid 90s, and has traveled to visit WCS dance conventions and social scenes around the country for many years. Now co-director of DCSX, Swing Fling and MADjam, she brings friendly warmth and attention to each of us as valuable members of a social dance community. As a teacher & event organizer, she balance a sense of the fun of performance and competition with a strong belief that the essential soul of this dance resides within everyone's reach, on the shared social floor. She is known for being playful and inclusive, and for a focus on respect and cooperation. Sammy Powers & Heather Fronczak (Louisville, KY): Sammy was introduced to West Coast Swing in 2005 and completely fell in love with the all-night social dancing at events. He was trained extensively in dance instruction by four-time UCWDC Worlds Champion, Cody Melin.

Heather has been trained since childhood in a multitude of dances such as tap, hip-hop and jazz. She started competing at the early age of eight on the country line dance team, "The Wrong Way Wranglers". During her training in country she instantly fell in love with West Coast Swing.

Sammy & Heather (a.k.a The Dorky Duo) met for the first time in 2013 and quickly started traveling the States to perform their Rising Star routines and have many titles in the division. In April 2017 they moved to the Classic division and today they continue their travels to teach loads of workshops, choreograph, judge, compete, perform, and share their love of West Coast Swing with others.


Arthur & Colleen Uspensky
are passionate teachers, social dancers and competitors.  Based in Chicago at May I Have This Dance, they love growing the midwest community with weekly bootcamp intensives and social dances.   Having taught around the country and world, the Uspensky's are excited to experience their first ever MadJam!!
Demetre Souliotes & Kara Frenzel (CA) By age 13, Demetre was competing, battling and winning in three different styles of Hip Hop and Kara was taking in classes in Hip hop, modern, ballet, jazz. She was soon on the High school varsity dance team and talking choreography and modern classes at the community college. Kara moved into learning Swing (EC and lindy), salsa, ballroom, latin and running dance nights for them where she attended at BYUI. Demetre discovered West Coast Swing and after 3 months after learning the basics of WCS, Demetre won his first competition. Within 2 years he was asked to partner by one of the top champion dancers of the day, Beata Howe. Demetre and Beata traveled the USA full time on the WCS professional circuit competing, performing, teaching and then capping the year with a 6th place finish at the US Open Swing Dance Championships.  He also he spent 4 years teaching all over Asia and started the WCS community in China. Kara discovered WCS between working at a well-known ballroom studio and touring with BYUI.  She threw herself into the scene after college, elevating through the ranks and began teaching and cultivating a home WCS community.  Demetre and Kara both travel all over the world, competing, teaching, judging, and performing for WCS.  They have both had successful Classic and showcase partners in the past and compete in the Champions divisions.  At home in their respective communities of Southern California and San Luis Obispo, Demetre and Kara promote events, run dances, host classes, teach and more. They have just begun partnering together and debuted their first routine together at The OPEN in 2016 and looking forward the the next year traveling, teaching, judging, and promoting West Coast Swing!

Patty Vo
(TX) is a U.S. Open Champion and UCWDC World Champion. She began dancing at a local bar and soon after transitioned into competitive dancing and never looked back. She has gone on to win several Showcase Division and Champion Strictly and Jack and Jills. She currently travels globally, teaching, judging, coaching, and performing. Although abroad most weekends she still enjoys sharing her love of the dance and inspiring dancers with her fun and graceful style. When she’s not judging or teaching, you can always find her out on the social dance floor. In her teaching style, Patty focuses on connection, centering, musicality, footwork, and lead/follow techniques, also incorporating various aspects of her favorite dances: West Coast Swing, Country, Salsa, Ballroom, and Jazz.  Her classes are very challenging, innovative, and extremely insightful.  Her methods have produced some of the fastest moving and best dancers in the country. Her dance training includes West Coast Swing, Ballroom, Salsa, Jazz, Lyrical, Hustle, Aerial Silk and Country.

Laureen Baldovi
(CA) is a 4-time UCWDC World’s Masters Division Champion (Country Dance, 1995-1998) and has won 8 US Open Swing titles in the Classic (1995), Superstar (1996, 1997), Showtime Invitational (1998), Teams (1993, 1994 & 1996), and Showcase (2003) Divisions. She retired from UCWDC competitions in 1999 and moved to New York City to dance in a Broadway show called ‘Swing!’ until 2001.
The California Swing Dance Hall of Fame awarded Laureen the Nova Star in 1998, the Rising Star in 2002, the Shining Star in 2016, and in 2014, she was induced into the World Swing Dance Council’s Hall of Fame. In January, 2015, the UCWDC inducted Laureen into their first Legends of Country Dance category, and in 2016, they inducted her into their Hall of Fame.


Robert Royston
(NY) is an 8x US Open swing champion in 5 different divisions, who holds 4 World Country Dance titles, 3 USA Grand Nationals titles, and 4 Phoenix Champion of Champion Jack and Jill trophies. The '14 and '15 National Association of Swing Dance Events (NASDE) tour Champion, and a member of 5 different dance Halls of Fame, Royston has performed, choreographed, and produced on film, tv, and stage for over thirty years. His career-long devotion to being the best teacher he can be has led him to train in many systems of movement, and has helped earn him the reputation as one of the greatest teachers in the world of dance today. Oh... And he is the "voice" of over 20 events a year!

Robert Cordoba (FL) Dance Champion.  Coach.  Choreographer.  U.S. Swing Dance Champion.  Hall of Famer.Dancing, teaching, performing, choreographing and judging for over thirty years. He started competing in International Latin at the age of sixteen when he was a member of two U.S. International Latin American formation teams (placing 5th and taking the bronze medal at the World Ballroom Formation Team Championships). He was a top U.S Amateur competitor representing the at events throughout until he switched to West Coast Swing in 1990. Within two years he won his first U.S. Open title. For the past twenty years Robert has averaged approximately forty weekends per year traveling around the world to teach West Coast Swing. His impressive list of accomplishments includes: 7 U.S. Open titles, 4 consecutive USA Grand National titles, 4 consecutive N.A.S.D.E. titles, multiple J&J and Strictly Swing titles, was voted best Classic Swing Dancer by Dance Action magazine, was awarded “U.S. Open Social Dancer”, and he was the first person to win 3 consecutive US Open titles. Robert is a member of the “Super 7″ – dancers who won BOTH the Showcase and the Classic Divisions at the U.S. Open. He is a California Swing Dance Hall of Famer, Dallas D.A.N.C.E. Hall of Famer and a World Swing Dance Hall of Famer. Robert Cordoba has judged every major event including the Grand Nationals and U.S. Open multiple times. John Lindo
(CA) After beginning in country-western dance in 1992, John Lindo quickly made his mark on the West Coast Swing circuit by garnering an astonishing number of awards and championships in Jack-and-Jills and Strictly Swings. Some of his First Place awards include the U.S. Open, Grand Nationals, Phoenix Champion of Champions. He is also sought after internationally for his experience and teaching, having traveled to five countries in the past year alone. John currently resides in New Jersey and Northern California and is an influential presence in the New York City West Coast Swing scene.
Robin Smith (NC) has been dancing, teaching, and competing in dance for over 25 years. For the past 12 years, he has focused exclusively on west coast swing, studying with only the best in the business. With a diverse professional background in music, dance and martial arts, he has a unique understanding of body movement and has a knack for conveying that understanding to his students. He has won multiple top-teacher awards and loves sharing his vast knowledge and passion for west coast swing.

Estelle Bonnaire
(France) is one of the first dancers to discover West Coast Swing in France during the first edition of SSS in 2003. At the time, she had been dancing Lindy Hop for several years but fell in love with WCS immediately. She moved to Montreal in 2011 to teach WCS full time after taking many lessons and workshops with top WCS dancers, and started participating in competitions. She is currently at All Star level and has returned to France where she has started her
very own dance studio (Move Addict in Montpellier France) in 2014. She is also working closely with Sway'd shoes.
Eli Torres is a 4x World Salsa Champion and Pioneer of the Same Gender Category.  This World reknowned artist has been contracted all over globe to coach some of the worlds most prestigious teams and professional dancers that have become world salsa champions today, including all of his dance partners. He has also been contracted by the Swing community to train/coach for Single footed spins, creative movement, technique, choreography and more. He is a Leader and Follower in the dance community and is known for being a "Technician" which makes him an exceptional instructor. Jake Haning
(GA) is a young, enthusiastic, creative dance instructor specializing in West Coast Swing & ballroom dancing.  He started learning how to dance 20 years ago, & he has since found his passion in competing & teaching others.  With a strong focus on technique & willingness to share his talents & experience, Jake has taught all over the United States, England, France, & Australia.  

By implementing the principles of musicality, he facilitates the natural desire for movement & expression through dance which he believes can fulfill in others the desire for challenge, growth, & freedom.

Carmen Passi
has been part of the West Coast community since the beginning of Wcs in Chicago starting the Chicago Rebels (still going strong) & former owners of the Chicago Classic. Carmen is a strong supporter of WCS..” A true Ambassador of our Dance” Currently, Carmen has been judging for many top competitions for more than 20years.  Carmen and his wife, of 53 yrs.Rosa, attend many events and enjoy the Company of dancers around the World!
Chuck Brown is a Champion level competitor with over 18 years of experience. He is recognized as a top international instructor, NASDE Circuit and US Open judge, DJ, event promoter and dance business consultant.
Chuck is known for his musicality, creativity, versatility, and especially, his amazing lead on the dance floor. It has been said by many of the top pros, that Chuck is one of the best social dancers in all of West Coast Swing.
Chuck’s teaching methods have produced some of the fastest moving and successful dancers in the World. He has taught in over forty countries. He is an incredibly passionate and tough teacher who cares deeply about his student’s dance goals as well as their friendship; it’s evident in his workshops and private lessons. He has and is significantly impacting the Global West Coast Swing community in a positive manner.
Debbie Tuttle-Steffanina (MD) Debbie Lynn Tuttle is a full-time professional dance instructor in the Washington DC area. She is a UCWDC Champion, Pro-Am Instructor, and Dance Event Coordinator. Lessons include individual, couple, group classes, specialty workshops with a concentration in West Coast Swing (WCS) and Hustle dance styles, as well as providing private lessons in most of the ballroom dances. Her dance roots go back to days in ballet, jazz, modern, improv, hula and international ballroom and she studies extensively with many top professionals plus has the distinction of being a Premier West Coast Swing Dancer. Alyssa Glanville has been dancing since she was 8 years old. She started in Folk Dancing and Lindyhop. While she loved dance, she spent a lot of her youth playing soccer and showing horses competitively. It wasn't until she started ballroom when she was 15 that she was first exposed to West Coast Swing. She immediately fell in love with the dance, especially the creative aspect drawn from other dances. Since then, Alyssa has trained in Hip Hop, Contemporary, Jazz, Zouk, and Ballet. She uses her knowledge from those dances to enhance her WCS. She just graduated from University last May with a degree in Communications and Business and now is studying to become a Personal Trainer. She travels around the world with her partner John Kirkconnell sharing their passion for this dance. While competing at the Champion level, she has placed top 5 in many Pro Level Jack and Jills and Strictlies and loves the chance to share her art amongst her peers. She truly loves the social dancing aspect of this dance and can't wait to see you on the social floor!

Carrie Lucas
offers over 25 years of experience as a Judge and Competitor.  She is a respected coach in the West Coast Swing Circuit. Known for her "Dance like a Lady" Styling and Sassy Syncopated footwork, Carrie has extensive training in classical dance, Ballroom, Latin and Country, which she credits for her appreciation in both the evolving nature of West Coast Swing, while respecting its traditional roots. Ruby Lair
  (Houston, TX) began DJing for the west coast swing dance community in 2008 at the Melody Club in Houston, TX and continue to DJ there most Friday nights. "My love of music is only rivaled by my love of dancing. I really do spend countless hours seeking out new music to share with west coast swing dance community. I love to see a floor packed with dancers and playing music that makes people want to dance. My music sets contain a mixture of swing, blues, pop, r&b and more. I am truly honored to have been named the 2010 DJ of the Year by the AllSwing DJ group. I was also nominated for a WAG Award as 2010 DJ of the Year." Currently member of the AllSwing DJs Group and Global Swing DJs Group, Ruby frequently DJ parties, dances, and competitions locally and nationally.


Louis St. George (NH) is a full-time professional DJ. Serving primarily the west coast swing and line dance crowds, Louis travels year-round providing the highest quality music for dancers of all types. With over 15 years of DJ experience, DJ Louie is never missing what to play next, and loves keeping a dance floor rocking.

victorVictor Loveira (LA) Originally from Houston, Victor has over 30 years experience as a DJ and over 17 years experience as a swing DJ. Victor's first WCS event to DJ was The Texas Classic in 1995 in Dallas, Texas. From that point on, he has had the good fortune of DJing many of the countries’ top swing events including The US Open, Dallas DANCE, Boogie by the Bay, USA Grand Nationals, Americas' Classic, Liberty Swing, Swing Diego, Swing Fling, Summer Hummer, Nashville Classic, Worlds and Phoenix. Victor has also traveled internationally to DJ at prestigious swing events in London. To his credit, Victor is considered by peers to be one of the top Swing DJs in the business and travels approximately 40 weeks in a given year. In 2005, Victor was honored with the AllSwing DJ of the Year Award. He won Best DJ of 2011 at the first annual Westie Awards Gala, an honor bestowed on him by his west coast dance peers. In 2012, Victor was inducted into the Allswing DJ Hall of Fame.


Katie Fallon
(OH) is a West Coast Swing and Hustle DJ from Ohio who loves sharing her passion of music. In 2011 she was introduced and trained by a fellow DJ and started DJing for local dances around Cleveland. As time passes, Katie continues to inspire people at dances and events in the Midwest and progressively around the United States. Her goal is to work hard on providing the best experience through social and competition music alike!
Koichi Tsunada (WA) started DJing locally in Seattle in 2012 and has been growing momentum ever since. In 2013 and 2014 he was a D.J. at larger events in Washington, Oregon, Vancouver BC, California, & Korea. He is recognized by many as being incredibly friendly, having a “weird” sense of humor and being well traveled. Koichi enjoys DJing because it is a way to bring joy to people & introduce something new to the local dance scene. Often times he can be found playing for the late night crowd at dance conventions & after every event, shares his songs with the public. He never expected the long-running tradition of requesting a “Koichi’s last song” to take him down the path of becoming a West Coast Swing D.J. He’s super excited to be able to a DJ staff at MADjam!

Jes Ann Nail
(NY) started DJing in 2013 after dancing West Coast Swing for 3 years and discovering her love for the diversity of music WCS had to offer. Coming from traditional Ballroom to WCS was musical liberation for her which sparked an interest in pursuing a side career DJing in the WCS community. Being a Ballroom Instructor by profession coupled with some prior experience as a DJ, allowed for a seamless transition into the WCS world. She enjoys collecting a variety of music but her favorites include Contemporary and Indie Pop, Blues, and Acoustic Covers. Jes Ann calls New York City home but enjoys traveling the US and Europe teaching, competing, and DJing to become the medium between two of her passions, dance and music.

Justin Petersen
has been DJ'ing over 20 years, before he discovered West Coast Swing, he worked as a programmer, producer and presenter in radio and television. He was introduced into WCS DJ'ing by Dirk and Nicholas in Germany. Since 2013 he's DJ'd all over Europe including Budafest, French Open, Bavarian Open, d:town swing, UK Champs, Swingzterland, West in Lyon and many more. He's a big believer in the WCS community and now has his own YouTube channel and Instagram describing how the community, his DJ'ing and his own personal growth journey has made him the person he is today.
Tim Johnson (MI) Tim Johnson (MI) is a full time dance professional who serves the dance community locally, nationally and internationally. It began in 1998 with a passion for dancing and an entrepreneurial spirit that guided him to establish Dance Fanatics. Based in Metro Detroit, Dance Fanatics hosts a variety of dances, workshops and seminars including weekly and monthly West Coast Swing parties titled West Coast Wednesday and Second Saturday Swing.
